Mental Health Awareness & Wellbeing

At the end of the workshop, participants will feel more confident to:

  • Understand the importance of Mental Health and Physical Health

  • Look at their personal stressors using the Stress Bucket tool.

  • Explore self-esteem building tools using the five ways to wellbeing.

  • Consider how to maintain or regain good Mental Health for yourself.

  • Identify strategies to help cope with stress at home, school, and work using wellbeing action plans.

Understanding Anxious Feelings

At the end of the workshop participants will have:

  • An introduction to mental health and wellbeing.

  • An improved understanding of anxious feelings.

  • The opportunity to explore their own thoughts, feelings and actions surrounding their own anxious feelings.

  • Gained techniques that allow them to evaluate and respond to anxious feelings in healthy ways.

  • Knowledge of local services and support.

Understanding Relationships

At the end of the workshop, participants will feel more confident to:

  • Understand the importance of having healthy relationships

  • Examine the characteristics of their own relationships to see whether they are healthy or unhealthy

  • Have a better awareness the characteristics of unhealthy relationships and the types of Domestic abuse that can take place

  • Consider how to maintain or regain healthy relationships

  • Explore their own morals and values within their relationships and whether they are happy with these.

Understanding Self-Esteem & Identity

At the end of the workshop, participants will feel more confident to:

  • Understand the importance of good Mental Health & Physical Health.

  • Recognise that you have worth and are worthy of happiness.

  • Explore, express and share our feelings when asked: “How are you feeling?”

  • Look at how low and high Self-esteem can affect our Mental health & Relationships.

  • Discover Self-esteem and confidence-building tips & tools.

Wellbeing Champions Training

The wellbeing champions programme aims to give participants the skills and knowledge they need to safeguard their mental health and that of their peers. In this champions programme, educators will work through a mental health awareness workbook that covers the topics of mental health, stigma and discrimination, spotting the signs, including non-judgemental listening and the responsibilities of a mental health and wellbeing peer educator.

Champions can help young people build the skills and confidence to help change how people think and act about mental health problems.

This workshop includes certificate and handbook.

All educators will receive ongoing support from a YiS Wellbeing Trainer for up to 6 months after the training.

Workplace Wellbeing

Suitable for all staff including those with leadership responsibilities, who are keen to promote positive workplace mental wellbeing, improve productivity and staff morale.

At the end of the workshop participants will feel more confident to:

  • Better understand mental health and wellbeing.

  • Empower staff to feel more confident discussing mental health.

  • Support staff to better relate to others.

  • Share strategies for staying well and promoting positive mental wellbeing using wellbeing action plans. (WAP)

  • Look at ways to improve their own wellbeing using the five ways of wellbeing.
