MKYiS Young People's Mental Health

YiS Young People's Mental Health is a long-running independent charity that works in Milton Keynes to help young people as well as the people that support them. We provide counselling, education, early support hubs and more to improve mental health and wellbeing in the local area.

Therapeutic Counselling

We provide free and confidential BACP-accredited counselling for young people aged 11-21 in Milton Keynes. We work with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, anger, recovery from abuse, family problems, relationship difficulties and many more.

More information can be found on our Therapeutic Counselling pages.

Education & Outreach

We deliver high-quality, engaging and interactive mental health and wellbeing workshops in schools and workplaces, which include one-to-one coaching and outreach activities to young people across Milton Keynes.

Our specialist Wellbeing Trainers are skilled in delivering a variety of topics such as Mental Health Awareness, Workplace Wellbeing, Self-Esteem & Confidence and Stress and Anxiety strategies.

More information can be found on our Education and Training pages.

Early Support Hubs

The YiS Early Support Hubs provide a drop-in service for young people aged 11+ who would like a safe space to access support for their mental health and wellbeing without needing a referral or an appointment. Young people will gain access to light touch, early intervention information, signposting, guidance and activities to support their mental health and emotional wellbeing before they hit a crisis point.

More information can be found on our Early Support Hub pages.

Governance

The charity is overseen by a board of volunteer trustees. They are responsible for strategic oversight and development of YiS and come with the expertise and/or enthusiasm to help us better support young people’s mental health in Milton Keynes. If you are interested in becoming a trustee, or would like to find out more, please visit our volunteering page.
